General Dimitrios Choupis, the Chief of Greece National Defence General Staff, embarked on an official visit to India on April 8, 2024. This visit follows closely on the heels of Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis' state visit to India in February 2024, during which significant agreements were reached to bolster cooperation between the two nations across various sectors, including shipping, connectivity, and defence.
Ceremonial Reception:
Upon his arrival in Delhi, General Choupis was warmly welcomed by the Greek Ambassador to India, Aliki Koutsomitopoulou. Subsequently, he proceeded to the South Block Lawns, where he was accorded a Guard of Honour, a traditional ceremonial reception reserved for esteemed visiting dignitaries.
Paying Respects at the National War Memorial:
As part of his official itinerary, General Dimitrios Choupis paid homage at the National War Memorial in Delhi, laying a wreath to honor the sacrifices of India's armed forces personnel.
