Due to its isolation from the mainland India, the local populace of Andaman and Nicobar Islands have developed some distinct values and tradition, which could be seen in their art forms such music and dance.

Following are the popular folk dance forms of the Andaman and Nicobar island:

Nicobarese Dance
Inspired by the different elements of nature, Nicobarese Dance is performed by the local tribesmen of the Car Island. They mostly perform this dances during Ossuary feast. The Ossuary feast are organized by tribesmen to pay homage to their ancestors. The feast is organized on the night of full moon. Thus the participants perform the dance during whole night time.

The Great Andamanese Dances
The Great Andamanese Dances are performed by the people of Andaman Island group. These dances features the stories of travel and personal adventures. These dances are rythm based not with specific pitch.
