Shiv Kund (Sohna): Hot Spring in Haryana
Hot springs are produced by the surfacing of geothermally heated groundwater from Earth. The hot spring water is rich in mineral and known for its therapeutic values.

Like many other states in India, there is a group of hot springs in Haryana at Sohna. The group was discovered by the Hindu pilgrims around 1647. Though, these springs lost their charm for a few decades. However, they were rediscovered by the British in 1842 who built a domed tank around the hot springs. The spring water is channeled into pools.

The tank is considered sacred by pilgrims and known as Shiv Kund. The hot spring water is rich in sulfur and its temperature varies between 46 to 51.7 °C.
