The neighbouring states of Bihar are Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal and Jharkhand. It also shares India's international border with Nepal.

Bihar shares bourndaries with Uttar Pradesh from its west, Nepal from its north, West Bengal from its east and Jharkhand from its south.
 
Jharkhand and Uttar Pradesh share their boundaries with the maximum number of districts of Bihar (7), followed by West Bengal (3).

Uttar Pradesh: West Champaran, Gopalganj, Siwan, Saran, Buxar, Rohtas and Kaimur
Nepal: West Champaran, East Champaran, Sitamarhi, Madhubani, Supaul, Araria and Kishanganj
West Bengal: Kishanganj, Prunea and Katihar
Jharkhand: Bhagalpur, Banka, Jamui, Nawada, Gaya, Aurangabad and Rohtas

Interestingly, Nepal also shares its boundary with seven districts of Bihar. The Raxaul-Birgunj crossing is known as Gateway of Nepal. Raxaul is a small town in the West Champaran district. The total length of India-Nepal border is 1748.8 km and Bihar makes up 601 km of that international border.
