The state of West Bengal is blessed with several rivers. From the ancient times, these rivers have fueled the economy of the region by providing the cheap transportation. They are also the reason behind the growth of several industries such as cotton and jute in the state. The City of Joy Kolkata is located on the bank of Hooghly river and known India's only riverine port.
